Plywood Parts and Assembly Supplies

Laser-cut plywood parts connect with interlocking joints, so glue isn’t needed for the build. Assembly tools come with this wooden construction kit. Wax may not be included, so check the contents before starting; ordinary candle wax can be used if you need to supply it separately.

Rear Wheel Drive

A wind-up spring powers this mechanical wooden puzzle, with a four-stage gear train driving the rear wheels. Wind the mechanism using the T-shaped key at the rear of the car. A full wind provides about 20–26 feet (6–8 meters) of travel, with no batteries required.

Start Button and Brake

A press on the driver’s helmet in the cockpit starts the car, and a mechanical sound box adds an engine-like sound as it moves. The brake uses a separate control beneath the chassis. Press the tab marked “PUSH” to engage the brake when the model is stationary.

Front Wheels and Rear Differential

A rear differential lets the back wheels rotate at different speeds as the car turns. The front steering reaches 45 degrees, with a turning radius of about 16 inches (40 cm). Silicone tires cover the wooden wheels, providing grip where the model makes contact with the floor.
