Treasure Box Assembly

This wooden construction kit has 123 pieces and takes about four hours to assemble. Rated hard at four out of five, it involves fitting the gears, lock, and moving panels together. Follow the illustrated instructions and check each mechanism as you progress through the build.

Dial Lock

Three-Digit Combination

Choose from 810 three-digit combinations and set the code during assembly using the manual. To open this mechanical wooden puzzle, enter the combination with the numbered dial, then turn the center knob to release the lid. Keep a written copy of your chosen code for future reference.

Lid Mechanism

Iris Cover and Hidden Compartment

Turn the large gear on top and the overlapping iris blades open around a circular recess in the lid. Rotate the gear back to close the opening. This upper storage space is separate from the interior below, so you can reach it without lifting the main hinged lid.

Rear Controls

Elevator Compartment

Two wooden keys at the back operate the lift mechanism. After opening the main lid, turn a rear key: the slotted panels swing open and the inner compartment rises. There is room for a ring or another small keepsake. Lower the compartment before closing the main lid.

Wooden Structure

Interlocking Panels and Curved Corners

The wooden model kit has interlocking panels and rounded corners formed by closely spaced cuts in the wood. The sides carry a repeating wave pattern, bordered by rows of small circular cutouts. Pale wood surfaces contrast with darker cut edges, leaving the joints and layered construction visible in the finished box.

Display Size

Desk and Dresser Placement

At about 3.9 × 4.9 × 3.3 inches (100 × 124 × 85 mm), the assembled DIY wooden model is small enough for a desk or dresser. Keep the front dial within reach, with enough space above to lift the lid and behind the box to turn the rear keys.
