You put together the body, fit the mechanical components, and attach the outer details using the included instructions. This mechanical puzzle combines ABS plastic and metal. Reddish-brown shell panels sit against a black body, with trim in brass and copper tones. Their pebbled texture and small rivet details give the shell an armored appearance, while curved tubing and spring details run along the front legs.

Wing Motion

Etched Metal Wings

Etched metal wings follow the branching veins of insect wings, with open sections between the fine lines. They can vibrate 618 times per minute, driven by a miniature electric motor. The two wings extend to either side beneath the raised outer covers, forming the model’s flight pose.

V8 Mechanism and LED Indicator

At the center of the body, a simulated V8 engine has two banks of four cylinders. Red LED lighting flashes while the mechanism runs, serving as an operating indicator. The raised shell panels leave the engine exposed, with copper-colored pipes framing the moving parts along the beetle’s back.
