Assembled size

Showa-Era Japanese Corner Shop

A Japanese Showa-era neighborhood shop forms the full scene, with the retail area at the front and a small owner’s rest area behind it. The book nook diorama turns those connected spaces into a miniature world for assembly, combining a recognizable storefront with the quieter room behind the counter.

Shop Interior

Confectionery Counter and Shop Goods

The confectionery counter holds wagashi displays, candy jars and packaged snacks, while nearby shelves add soda bottles, snack boxes, magazines and other daily goods. A capsule toy machine, hand fans, wind chimes, retro posters and shop advertisements complete the retail area with a range of small shop fixtures and merchandise.

Build Structure

225-Piece Snap-Fit Assembly

Assembly uses 225 pieces and takes about 11 hours, with difficulty rated four out of five. The snap-fit structure allows the main components to join without glue, although optional adhesive can be used for additional stability. Recommended for ages 14 and up, the project includes small parts and requires careful work through intricate assembly steps.

Shelf Footprint

Horizontal Bookshelf Format

The assembled model measures 246 × 159 × 187 mm and uses a wider horizontal format rather than a conventional vertical book nook profile. As a bookshelf insert, it needs enough shelf width for its footprint; it can also serve as bookcase decoration on a shelf, desk or other display surface.

Warm Lighting

Dual LED Lighting

Two warm LED light sources illuminate the shop interior and storefront. Power comes from two AAA batteries, so the finished model does not need a cable connection during use. Batteries are not included, which is worth knowing before assembly if you want to test the lighting as soon as the build is complete.

Door Access

Front and Side Doors

The front and side doors can be opened freely, giving access to the miniature shop from different angles. This lets you inspect the counter, shelving and interior after assembly instead of viewing the scene only through the storefront windows. The movable doors are a functional part of the finished model, not just fixed facade panels.
