Monocular Telescope Assembly

You assemble 314 pieces into a DIY wooden model, following the included illustrated instructions. The build takes about 2.5 hours and has a medium difficulty rating of three out of five stars. Laser-cut plywood components fit together to form the barrel, lens housing, and supporting structure.

Lens Specifications

3× Magnification

Objects appear three times larger through the eyepiece, with a viewing distance of up to 150 m (about 492 feet). A 30 mm objective lens works with a 20 mm eyepiece to provide the magnified view. The lenses are included in this wooden model kit.

Manual Controls

Barrel and Tripod Adjustments

Pull the three nested barrel sections outward to extend the scope, then slide them inward to shorten it. The tripod also has an adjustable height and a pivoting mount. Together, these manual controls let you position the eyepiece and angle the barrel toward the object you want to view.

Separate Components

Handheld Use and Storage

The telescope body detaches from the tripod for handheld use. A small chain keeps the eyepiece cover attached to the scope, so it stays with the body when you move it. Fold the stand's legs when putting it away, and store the body and stand separately.

Nautical Details

Woodwork and Pirate Motifs

Scroll patterns run along the barrel, while layered rings frame the joins between sections. A decorative leather wrap and metal nameplate add contrast around the wider end. The wooden puzzle also has a skull motif on its round eyepiece cover, with cutouts and engraved lines continuing the vintage pirate styling.

Display Space

Finished Model Dimensions

The finished model measures about 13 by 9.4 by 12.8 inches (330 by 240 by 325 mm). The tripod's spread legs need room on a desk, shelf, or side table. Check the available surface depth before choosing a spot, especially if you plan to display it beside other models.
