Alchemy City Mechanical Marble Run

Alchemy City turns the finished model kit into an operating marble system. A powered lift returns marbles to the upper track, where they travel through the mechanical city and cycle back toward the lift. The DIY model pairs this movement with illuminated details, so assembly leads to a functional display rather than a fixed structure.

Modular Structure

Plastic and Metal Construction

The build uses a jack-type panel system and socket-type boards to join its modular sections. Main materials include ABS, PC, and metal, giving the mechanical puzzle a mixed-material construction rather than a wood-based format. The lift module and city module form separate structural sections that connect into the finished vertical model.

Track Mechanism

182 cm Marble Circuit

Marbles travel along a 182 cm route with transparent channels, a crystal elevator, bridges, alchemy bottles, and a core furnace section. A node-gear drive powers the mechanism while the automatic lift returns marbles to the top. Together, these elements create the repeating circuit at the center of the marble run.

Touch Control

Marble and Lighting Modes

A brass touch control switches between two functions. Marble-rolling mode starts the lift, cycles the marbles, and flashes the lights with movement before shutting off automatically after 10 minutes. A second touch changes to lighting display, stopping the lift and motor while the lights continue. Power is supplied through USB Type-C at 5V/1A.

Parallel World Connections

Alchemy City can connect with compatible Parallel World modules through side entrances and socket-type boards. The system supports horizontal extension, vertical stacking, and four-grid arrangements. One city module and one lift are included in the standard configuration; larger layouts require additional compatible city or lift modules depending on the arrangement.

Light System

Interactive LED Effects

Seven groups of light boxes create more than 120 interactive lighting-effect combinations using orange, purple, green, and pink LEDs. The lighting also responds to ambient sound, adding another input beyond the marble-driven effects. This gives the finished model an active illuminated display even when the marble mechanism is not running.
